About the Role

The Centre for Accounting Studies is seeking a meticulous and experienced Finance Officer (Billing and Collections) to manage our revenue streams, billing cycles, and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will ensure financial accuracy, maintain robust collection processes, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our finance department.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following qualification and experience criteria:

  • Option 1: A recognized professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or an equivalent academic qualification) plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
    Essential Requirement: Demonstrable proficiency in Pastel and CaseWare.
  • Option 2: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
    Essential Requirement: Demonstrable proficiency in Pastel and CaseWare.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Technical Expertise: Sound knowledge of accounting principles relating to revenue recognition, receivables, budgeting, and cost accounting.
  • Core Functions: Strong practical knowledge of billing, invoicing, and accounts collection processes.
  • Software Proficiency: Excellent computer literacy, advanced Microsoft Office suite knowledge, and hands-on proficiency with accounting software (specifically Pastel and CaseWare).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial records and interpret financial data effectively for other departments.
  • Work Ethic: Highly deadline-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
