Vacancy Announcement: Junior Finance Officer

Position: Junior Finance Officer
Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Green Habitat Initiative (GHI) is seeking a Junior Finance Officer to support its finance and accounting functions. The successful candidate will assist with financial transactions, reporting, reconciliations, documentation, compliance, and general finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Finance Officer will:

  • Assist with daily accounting and financial transactions.
  • Maintain financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with bank and basic account reconciliations.
  • Support budget tracking and routine expense monitoring.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and related documentation.
  • Ensure proper filing of financial and compliance records.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to basic audit queries.
  • Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Completed NYSC.
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, including internships, NYSC, or entry-level roles.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
